ArtLog: new work
Jun. 29th, 2003 11:17 pm"The Five Sorrows of Brother Moonlamp" necklace:wrapped 22 gauge sterling silver wire, with clasp on one end and a labradorite teardrop dangle on the other; beads of glass and stone, mostly in blues and grays and lavenders and the colors that dance on labradorite. Long enough to loop twice, and looks very nice with the inner shorter loop being the clasp-and-dangle, framed by the curve of the outer longer loop.
Odd -- making this was like starting all over again. Perhaps that's because it was the first named piece that I did wrapped in a long time, rather than just bent linked. The dangle wirework feels clumsy to me, but a strangely endearing clumsy, so I shall leave it. It seems to suit. This is a curious piece. (The Obble saw it two links and a dangle from done, tonight, and can offer her opinions if she likes.)
Not sure what I'll do next; I have any number of things waiting on the line, but am going to show some things to a store soon, so might do a special simple piece I may want to show them. It's something I have wanted to try for a while anyhow.
