Life is certainly enhanced with the improvement of available captioning in real time through various browsers and software. I want to have virtual tea with so many different people! I can see what they are saying! And it doesn't leave me exhausted the way lip-reading so often does. Maybe making a whole bunch of virtual tea dates will be another set of birthday presents. Things to look forward to. Always good.

Also there needs to be some storytelling. Some virtual storytelling gatherings, I mean. Even more things to look forward to.  In the meantime, I plan to continue enjoying the next few days as we approach Friday, which is the birthday actual.

If anybody wants to do a kind thing, letting people know about my Birthday Month Sale is a very kind thing indeed, and maximizes the amount of good stuff like bill-paying and bead-acquiring that this Lioness is able to do. <3 <3 <3

LionessElise's Birthday Month Sale:
Sale goes all through the month of August.
As usual, there will be special birthday markdowns on the 22nd.
There will be more markdowns as the month goes on.
Expect the last days to be lively. And the last hours to be very bouncy indeed.
When it's done, anything left goes back to full price.

Well, OK, it would still let me put up more things. But I have reached my goal of having 300 pieces in the shop for my birthday month sale. Whee!  Here is the shop:

300 pieces is a lot. It was a big goal. A very big goal. But I am there.

To celebrate, yes, I did put up one more piece. Its name is a line from a poem of mine.  It can be seen here:

If you want to do something nice for my birthday, please point people at the sale, yes? It would be a great goodness. Also, there will be more markdowns coming, because you know how I get. <3

Today I opened the front door to see if the mail had arrived, and found that the clump of sunflowers at the bottom of the first section of front steps was full of goldfinches, who exploded upward. They we unutterably beautiful, and so bright they seemed to shine with inner light.

It was a wonderful thing.

Seen anything wonderful lately?

There seems to be a small but mighty conspiracy afoot to put money in my paypal account for that keyboard I said I want.

Let me say right now that
YOU ALL ARE AWESOME
and we are almost there

so if somebody wants to add a coin or two, the paypal address is: paypal.me/LionessElise

You are so wonderful and I am so grateful.

EEEEEEE!

I have some absolutely spectacularly gorgeous things to put in the Etsy shop, including a stunning prasiolite necklace and a lot of turquoise pendants. Once I finish the three things on deadline that actually cannot wait, I can put them up as fast as I can. The birthday actual is on Thursday. I hope to finish deadline things tonight. Wish me luck!

(Using workbench time to deal with stress has benefits that involve so many new things.)

As usual, August is my Birthday Month Sale. The early markdowns are there at https://www.etsy.com/shop/LionessElise and some Saturday late night markdowns should be coming tonight, along with some new pieces.

As always, there will be more markdowns as we go through the month. For fierce bargain hunters, I recommend keeping close watch on August 22, where there will be very temporary big markdowns to celebrate my birthday actual, and on August 31 when the sale comes to a close. That last day gets pretty lively with the markdowns, especially the last few hours. If there's something you've always wished for, you might find it at 75% off then.

Because you know how I get. ;-)

...
I just went looking for my old cassette tape of "The North Star Grassman and the Ravens" (which is how I remember the title but not necessarily what the title actually is, mind you), by (I think) Sandy Denny, because the song with a line about "blackwaterside" kept running through my head as I was working on "ditchwatersprite" just now. Didn't find TNSGatR, but did find the master-and-only recordings of Cats Laughing and Boiled In Lead when they played the Canterbury Inn for my birthday party convention thingie in August of 1990.

I should probably ask them whether they'd like copies, and what they'd like done with them. I should certainly get them dumped to digital or something, to preserve them, if it's not too late already.

That was a fun birthday, even if I did sprain my ankle dancing on the first night, and have to hop around with my cane the rest of the weekend. Fun, though. Rollercoasters with round-singing on them (which mightily disconcerted the attendants, hee hee!); Beth Meacham and Tappan King singing me the "Fishheads" theme on helium; the bestest practical amusement (not joke, really) ever played on me by good friends who know I mostly hate practical jokes; and so on. I can still see, in my mind's eye, Tappan hanging a spoon from his nose and solemnly intoning, "There are no accidents."

Heck of a thirtieth birthday. Suppose I oughtta get serious about planning the fiftieth. (Not sure I really do want to rent the Buddha Bar under the Hotel Crillon, even if it'd be still there and even if they'd let me, but anyhow....)
