10 city council members of color: a new record for Minneapolis

With Jenkins winning reelection and Chowdhury’s victory in Ward 12, Minneapolis will have 10 council members of color, the most in history.

Sahan Journal has a good article about the election results, although I wish I had a secret decoder ring to give to any readers unfamiliar with Minneapolis politics -- and possibly Minnesota politics in general. (We don't have Democrats here. We have the DFL, which is the Democratic-Farmer-Labor party.)

The secret decoder ring is at least partly Naomi Kritzer's political roundup posts (she only covers Minneapolis and Saint Paul, but is great about digging into the back history of people where that's relevant)

(Also an excellent author, to avoid confusion that point.)
