The Joy of Vicarious Eclipse Watching
Apr. 9th, 2024 12:39 amWhile I didn't go anywhere there was an eclipse, reading the reports of those who did get themselves to where eclipse viewing was available has been lovely. Some lucky people only had to get themselves outside their domicile to view it. Some traveled significant distances. If they wrote about it, I'm sharing their delight in it now.
Have you seen any accounts of it that you particularly liked reading? A phrase or two that delighted you, made you think, caught your curiosity?

Date: 2024-04-10 05:28 am (UTC)Where I was, things were looking promising around midday, and then half an hour before totality the clouds rolled back in. We were able to see the last bits of crescent sun through the occasional break, but nothing of the occluded sun or the corona. I got to see the 2017 eclipse and had been really looking forward to one that would last longer, so this was a bitter disappointment.
