Elise, I’m so sorry that the friendship you gave wholeheartedly (and I know it was because I know the kind of friend you are) was returned by betrayal and deceit. But I’m proud of you for standing with the women who’ve come forward with those allegations. It’s not at all easy to accept that what seemed real for so long was a lie, and many people hide from that acceptance. I wish I could say that “of course we believe the women” was a universal sentiment, but I’ve been too close to too many of these situations to believe that. And I’m glad you said it so clearly.
